Award-winning imagist Michael Lawrence originally hails from Buffalo, NY. His multi-platform work seeks to transcend advertising buzzwords like authenticity, kinetic, and presence. Thus it seemed fitting to design and build him a portfolio that was devoid of overstatement and glamour, with a clean design that put the work first. As well as showcasing both imagery and video, the site also acts as a shop for his prints and books.
Minimal Design, Maximum Focus
We kept the design minimal to let Michael's work take center stage. Subtle GSAP animations guide users through his portfolio without competing for attention. Every element serves the work first.
Colourful case studies
We gave Michael a simple color system for each case study. He picks one color that matches the project's mood, and the entire case study adapts to that theme. It's a small detail that helps express the personality of each piece.
Online shop
We integrated Snipcart for selling prints and books, but kept the commerce elements subtle. The shop feels like a natural part of the portfolio rather than the main focus.
